Oversized Shirts + Mini Skirt | Outfit

I’ve been putting off wearing this oversized shirt for a while now. Every time I try to wear it, it seems overwhelming.

Here’s why…

I’m pretty petite; my pictures never really show that much, blame it on angles.

The sleeves of the shirt was way too long for an intended shirtsleeves shirt. I had to turn it up, three times (to be exact) and stitched it in place.

I usually always tried pairing the shirt with something equally long, which just made me seem like a pin lost in a haystack.

I never tried cinching the waist in with a belt to give it an illusion of a narrower midsection.

In other to make this look work, I had to try a different way and this was the result.

I substituted long pants/skirts for a short skirt; creating the illusion of longer legs even without heels.

I’m not averse to showing skin but I think with moderation. If you are choosing to show wskin either on your upper body or lower body, make sure the opposite sides are fully covered. Otherwise, it looks trashy and nobody wants that.

I created a divide between my upper and lower body by using a wide enough belt, strategically chosen to show.

I also decided to have fun with my accessories. I chose a choker and a pair of playful/masculine shoes. Let’s just say, I was trying to put a masculine spin to this look somehow.

How would you have styled this shirt differently if you were me? Use the comment box.

I’m sorry I’ve been AWOL, I’ve been a little under the weather and dealing with life in general. Regular programming will be back shortly.

Do have a great Tuesday!

Xoxo,

SF.
